We may be The Cat People but we love canines too. This quiet and well mannered 10 year old Doxie was abandoned. Candy, our volunteer, took him to her vet and had the full works done. He was already neutered. She has contacted all rescue groups and no luck. If you would be able to take him in, if only for a while, we could continue looking for a permanent home. Candy would be willing to supply food and items necessary. By the middle of next week she may have to resort to the County shelter. He does not like cats..... You can email barb H at thecatpeople.org if you can help.
Best Friends Catnippers
If you are a responsible caretaker for a colony of homeless cats and want to find inexpensive or free ways to alter, go to catnippers@bestfriends.org and learn about the many programs available in the Los Angeles area. True, it would involve an appointment and drive, but it you are trying to fix several unaltered homeless cats, it would be well worth it! Their phone number is (818) 377-9700.
Sanctuary Update
Last Sunday, a few of us checked out what we felt was the ideal property for our dream sanctuary. Unfortunately, there appears to be a zoning issue, but we are hoping this could be resolved along with additional financing necessary to purchase the 2.5 acre property.... anyway, we will keep you posted.
