Tails of Bakersfield

Please support The Cat People in the Tails of Bakersfield fundraiser! For $10 (you can choose to donate more) you can enter your pet's picture and a brief description to be featured on the Bakersfield Californian. When you submit your $10, you can donate the proceeds to a organization of your choice--among those choices is The Cat People. This is your chance to give your pet a chance to shine in the public eye. (And help out your favorite organization!) Click here to get started! And hurry! In Need

For the past three Saturdays at Petco, we have had zero adoptions. We are extremely overrun with cats and literally have no room left within the organization. On top of low adoption numbers, we struggle with rising food, supplies, and vet costs. Plus we have very low volunteer rates as our need for help increases. If you are interested in adopting a cat, donating, or volunteering, I urge you to step forward. We need help to keep this wonderful organization going, so we can continue to help the needy cats of Bakersfield. As a frequent volunteer myself, I can say that my experiences with The Cat People have been nothing but rewarding.

Panda Express Fundraiser Today!

Upcoming Fundraisers

If you would like to submit a recipe for our cook book, please email it to psames@hotmail.com. Include the recipe and your first and last name. You can submit up to five recipes under one name. For example: Courtney Clerico submits five, but then also submits five recipes from Missy Clerico, her kitty. Have fun with it! Hope to see some great recipes.  The Panda Express fundraiser will be at the Mt. Vernon Panda Express on June 6th. You must bring our flyer with you to send 20% of proceeds to The Cat People. The flyers will be posted on the website on Monday so you can print them at home. Flyers will also be available at our adoption hours on Saturdays at the Rosedale Petco.

Watch Channel 17 News Tomorrow Morning

Barbara Hays, The Cat People's acting President, will be on Channel 17 News around 5:30 a.m. Barbara will be talking about our upcoming fundraisers which include an official Cat People Cook Book and a Panda Express event. Information about both of these fundraisers will be posted on the site by Monday. Check back soon!

General Meeting Tonight

The website will be revealed tonight at The Cat People's general meeting. The meeting will also feature information about the Cook Book fundraiser and challenges The Cat People face today. I hope to see a big turn out!
